Denver County Courthouse

Just wanted to share some pics with you of the Denver County Courthouse all lit up. They do a fantastic job decorating it. It is just fun to go downtown and walk around this time of year - a little chilly but definitely worth it!

Also -had some great pics taken of the boys that I had to share with you also.

I hope everyone has a happy and joyous Christmas!

Where does the time go???

Gosh - it has just been a whirlwind of activities ever since Thanksgiving! I love keeping busy but sometimes you just need a moment to catch your breath.

Well, as everyone know it has been very cold here. Yesterday morning we woke up to
-10 degrees and school was delayed for an hour. Today feels like a heat wave - up to 29 degrees!

I have to share Stampin' Up!'s Build-a-Bear set. It is so cute and so fun! I die cut the bears and their clothes - adhere them to magnets and TADA....stuck them on a metal cookie sheet. I'm giving this as a gift to a little girl and I hope she likes it! You can mix and match the outfits - I think it would be a lot of fun...but what do I know - I only have boys!
I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season! I'm also attaching a picture of the boys at the greenhouse - it was right before Thanksgiving and all of the poinsettas were in bloom - absolutely gorgeous!!

The next pic is of the family at a Bronco's game.

And last but not least - my upline Cindy and I did a craft fair at a local elementary - it was our first time - we had fun and made a little bit of money.

Yesterday....Today...

Yesterday....

Today....

And its supposed to keep snowing until tonight. The boys are out of school again today and right now they are out sledding - Yeah! We will probably have close to 2 feet of snow (if not more) before it ends.

Let it Snow....

My poor plant!! We are supposed to get between 1 and 2 feet of snow between today and tomorrow. They cancelled school today - so the boys are home with friends over. I may have to send them outside to build a snowman or go sledding later.

Last night we had our demonstrator shoebox swap which is always a great time - we have such a great group of girls. Below are the cards we made.

Tracy made this card. I really like this stamp set - its very "christmas-y" to me.
Jill made this card using an oval punch and the ornament punch - very creative Jill - love it!
Kim (a.k.a. Granny) made the snowflake card - love the colors on this one.
Dorothy made the Dasher card - Dasher is a great stamp to have for Christmas.
Tara (our leader) made the below card using masking and sponging. I love that effect.
I have one more swap to show you but will wait until tomorrow...you will want to check back as it would be a great idea for Thanksgiving! Have a great day!

Whew!!!

Fall Break is over and the boys are back in school!! Its nice to have them home but also nice to have a quiet house for a few hours. Grayson's birthday was this weekend so we had 7 to 8 boys in our house for a sleepover. You would think that would be total chaos but they were great!! No fighting - they just played and did their own little things. It snowed here over the weekend but today is 45 degrees and sunny - so everything should be melting off.

I'm hosting the October Shoebox Swap for SU demo's here tomorrow nite and just have to show my card (of course!)

Hope you guys have a great day!

Where does the time go?????

At the end of September Jason and I took a weekend trip to Las Vegas with our good friends from Memphis, Steven and Jennifer. We had a great time - really enjoyed catching up with Jen and Steve.

The boys are on fall break which is for 2 weeks. So, we made a quick trip back to Arkansas to see both of the grandparents. I got to see my good friend Penny and of course we made some cards!! We also took the kiddos bowling which was a lot of fun - my boys loved it!

Okay - you know that I cannot leave without posting at least one card! This is one of my cards for Christmas.

Why is it that fall seems so busy? I guess with school back in session and sports plus all the other extra activities - it just seems that there is not enough time in the day to get things done!! Which is my excuse for not posting in forever!!

Take care!!

Scarecrow Card

I think this card is so darn cute!! I case'd it from http://flowerbug.typepad.com/my_weblog/.
I just think it is one of the cutest cards made out of punches.

The kids were out of school today and since I had a card class last night - I was pretty tired - so we just "hung" out today and didn't do much. Tomorrow Parker has a football game at 9:00 a.m. so we will be up bright and early. After the game we may take a drive up in the mountains to see the aspens - I hope we haven't missed them changing color! If I get any good pics I will be sure and share them with you. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

ALERT!! Cute Teacher Gift Ahead....

I'm making these for the boys' teachers and a few other special people. Its basically a matchbook card with a belly band. I case'd this idea and cannot for the life of me remember where - so if its you please let me know - I want to give credit where credit is due. If you would like the directions leave me a comment and I will send them to you. I'm also thinking these would make cute halloween gifts - just using halloween paper and colors, hmmmmm....
Okay - I found the post - whew!!! For the above project I case'd from Mickey at http://mickeysplace.typepad.com/stamping_with_the_stars/. Very Cute!!

OMG! Its Snowing!! Sept 21st

Can you believe it? I'm in shock! Yesterday it was in the 80's - right now it is 36 degrees! Usually we don't get our first snowfall until late October. I can't imagine what the mountains are getting right now! If this is any indication of what winter holds - we better hold on tight!!

A Couple More Cards...

Like I promised yesterday, here are some more cards. The first two are a case from my upline, Cindy, you can see her blog here . We are making these today in my classes. I love the one with Happy Birthday in Melon Mambo - I consider that a "summer" card and it will probably be the last "summery" card this year. :( But on to bigger and better things right? Fall, halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are all just right around the corner. Lots to get ready for! The third card is made also by Cindy - I received it from a swap we had a couple of nights ago. Love the skeleton and the bat!

October 3rd is National Card Making Day - there is a day for everything isn't there? I'm going to have an open house where you can drop in and make a free card. I will have a display board up with various Christmas Cards that you can make. You can pick out the design that you want - I will have various prices listed - I will order the supplies and cut your card stock for you. I will set up an evening where you can come and make it at my house or if you prefer, you can pick up your supplies and take them home to make.

October 8th is our next regular card making class which will focus alot on Halloween. Hope to see everybody then. Have a great day!

Card Class Tomorrow

Hi Everyone!

Yes, I'm getting ready for my class tomorrow but thought I would show some of my cards with you today.

I think this is a fun card to make with your kids - very easy! It has a treat cup which you can put some candies in and give away to their friends.

This card is just a good fall card which I cased from my upline Cindy Russell- just makes me think of the cooler nights and of the leaves starting to change colors.

This card is also a fall card but it is called a tri-shutter card because of the way it opens up.

I've got a couple more cards to share with you but will wait until tomorrow.....

Fall is in the air....

It is definitely starting to cool down in the evenings here. Last night Parker had football practice and by the end of it I was wishing I had a jacket!

Isn't the pumpkin cute? It is made out of scalloped ovals - you can see the tutorial here http://happileighscrappin.blogspot.com.

Well, I'm off to the kids schools - its time for Thursday folders. Hope you guys have a great day!

Waterton Canyon

Today Jason and I went on a bike ride in Waterton Canyon. Yes, I know that may surprise some who know me and my athletic abilities. They have a dirt road that runs right along the Platte river. Jason took his fly fishing pole and we stopped a couple of times to let him fish. It was a great day for being outside. While we were riding down this road we ran into a herd of big horn sheep - I guess they are used to people because they did not run - in fact one came right up and started licking on people! Funny!

<
Can you see the BH sheep? There were several babies.
